Pay After You Pass Prop Firm Challenge Explained
Start a challenge for 5€ and pay the rest only once you have passed. Here is how Core Funded's Pay After Pass works, what it costs and which rules apply.
A pay after you pass prop firm lets you start an evaluation for a small fee and pay the rest of the price only once you have passed. At Core Funded this model is called Pay After Pass: you pay 5€ to start, trade Step 1, and the remaining amount is due only after you reach the profit target. If you do not pass, nothing more is due.
This guide explains how the model works step by step, what you pay for each account size, which rules apply before and after you pass, and how it compares with paying the full price upfront.
How Pay After Pass works
The process has four steps:
- Start for 5€. You pay the start fee and can begin trading right away.
- Pass Step 1. Reach the 3% profit target while following all trading rules.
- Pay the remaining amount. Once you have passed, the rest of the price is due.
- Trade your funded account. You move on to the funded stage and can request payouts.
If you do not pass Step 1, no further payment is due. The 5€ start fee is not refunded, but that is the most the attempt can cost you.
There is no time limit in either stage. You can take as long as you need to reach the target, and the account does not expire.
Prices for every account size
The total price of Pay After Pass is the regular price of the 1-Step Challenge of the same size. You pay 5€ of it at the start and the remainder after passing.
| Account size | Paid at start | Due after passing | Total price |
|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | 5€ | 60€ | 65€ |
| $10,000 | 5€ | 130€ | 135€ |
| $25,000 | 5€ | 250€ | 255€ |
| $50,000 | 5€ | 450€ | 455€ |
| $100,000 | 5€ | 730€ | 735€ |
There are no activation fees, platform fees or monthly costs on top. Optional add-ons at checkout, such as a higher profit split, are priced on the full total (for example 135€ on a $10,000 account), not on the 5€ start fee.
Pay After Pass is available from $5,000 to $100,000. You can start it on the Pay After Pass page.
The rules in Step 1 and on the funded account
Pay After Pass is a one-phase evaluation followed by the funded stage. The rules differ between the two.
| Rule | Step 1 | Funded |
|---|---|---|
| Profit target | 3% | none |
| Max. daily loss | none | 3% |
| Max. total loss (static) | 8% | 6% |
| Leverage | 1:100 | 1:100 |
| Trading period | unlimited | unlimited |
| Consistency rule | none | 15% |
| Swing and overnight | allowed | allowed |
| News trading | allowed | lockout window |
| Profit split | — | up to 95% |
Step 1: a low target and no daily limit
The target in Step 1 is 3%, and there is no daily loss limit. The only loss line is the static total loss of 8%, measured from the original account size. It does not move with your profits, so on a $100,000 account the floor stays at $92,000 the whole time. You can read more about how this works on the static drawdown page.
Funded stage: daily limit, consistency and news
Once you have passed and paid the remainder, the funded rules apply:
- Daily loss of 3%, recalculated at 00:00 UTC from the higher of balance or equity.
- Static total loss of 6%.
- Consistency rule of 15%: no single profit day may account for more than 15% of your total profit when you request a payout.
- Minimum profitable trading days, each with at least 0.5% profit, before your first payout.
- News lockout: trades are blocked from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after high-impact news, unless you add the News Trading upgrade.
When you pass, you keep the same account and the same login. The account is reset to its starting balance for the funded stage.
Worked example: a $100,000 Pay After Pass account
Step 1
- You pay 5€ and receive a $100,000 account.
- Profit target: 3% = $3,000, so you pass at $103,000.
- Static total loss: 8% = $8,000, so equity must stay above $92,000.
- No daily loss limit and no time limit.
Say you reach $103,000 after a few weeks. You have passed Step 1, and 730€ is now due. Your total cost is 735€, the same as the regular $100,000 1-Step Challenge.
Funded stage
Your account is reset to $100,000. The new lines are:
- Daily loss: $3,000 per day.
- Static total loss: 6% = $6,000, so the floor is $94,000.
Now assume you make $4,000 over several days and your largest single day was $550. The 15% consistency limit on $4,000 is $600, so that day is inside the limit. With the standard 80% profit split, your share is $3,200. With the 95% upgrade it would be $3,800.
Payouts on the funded account
Payouts are on demand. You request them in Match-Trader whenever you meet the requirements, and they are processed within 24 hours. If a payout takes longer, you keep 100% of the profit instead of the split. You can receive payouts by bank transfer or crypto. The details are on the payouts page.
The default profit split is 80%, and you can raise it up to 95% with an upgrade at checkout. As you keep trading, the scaling plan lets your account grow up to $10M.
Pay After Pass vs. paying the full price upfront
Both routes lead to a funded account. The difference is when you pay and which rules you trade under.
| Pay After Pass | 1-Step Challenge | 2-Step Challenge | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paid at start ($100K) | 5€ | 735€ | 495€ |
| Total if you pass ($100K) | 735€ | 735€ | 495€ |
| Profit target | 3% | 10% | 10%, then 5% |
| Max. daily loss in the evaluation | none | 3% | 5% |
| Max. total loss in the evaluation | 8% | 6% | 8% |
| Account sizes | $5K to $100K | $5K to $500K | $5K to $500K |
Pay After Pass costs the same total as the 1-Step Challenge, with a lower target and no daily limit in Step 1, and you only pay most of it once you have proven you can pass. The 2-Step Challenge has the lowest total price and goes up to $500,000, but you pay it in full at the start and trade two phases.
Pay After Pass suits you if you want to test your strategy under real rules without committing the full fee, or if you want a funded account up to $100,000 and prefer to pay only after a result.
