Match-Trader guide: everything you need as a prop trader

From your first login to your first payout request: how the Match-Trader platform is laid out and which features help you stay inside your prop firm rules.

Match-Trader is the trading platform behind every Core Funded account. Whether you trade an Instant account, a 1-Step, a 2-Step or a 2-Step Flex challenge, you place your trades in Match-Trader, follow your results in Match-Trader and, once you are funded, request your payouts in Match-Trader. This guide walks you through the platform the way a prop trader uses it: login, the screen layout, placing an order with your risk under control, charts, mobile use and the payout request.

    Logging in to Match-Trader

Match-Trader runs in your browser, so there is nothing to install. The Core Funded version is at match.corefunded.io.

After you buy an account and it is activated, you receive an email with your Match-Trader login details: your login, your password and the server information. Enter your email and password on the login screen and you land on the main view with charts and market information. If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder or contact support by chat or email.

From the main view you can see live market data, switch between accounts and browse all available instruments.

    When you pass a phase

When you pass a phase of a challenge, you keep the same account and the same login. The account is reset to its starting balance for the next phase, and you continue in the same Match-Trader account. You request the move to the next phase in the Core Funded dashboard; the review usually takes place within 24 business hours (Monday to Friday).

    The symbol list

On the left you find all tradable symbols, split into tabs. Favorites shows popular assets with name, current price and daily change. Top Movers lists the most volatile assets of the day, and you can switch it to weekly or monthly moves. The search icon lets you look for a specific instrument or browse by asset class.

You trade forex, indices, commodities and crypto from this list. Crypto is open 24/7, including weekends.

    Header and bottom bar

At the top, Match-Trader shows your profit. Click the arrow next to it to also show your balance and the other values you want to see.

The bottom bar holds your trading activity: open positions, pending orders, closed trades and the financial history with deposits, withdrawals and other movements. Each area can be sorted, for example by symbol.

Placing a trade with your risk under control

Click a symbol and the order panel shows the buy price, the sell price, a field for your trade volume and the total value of the position after leverage. Leverage is 1:100 on forex, indices and commodities and 1:5 on crypto.

The advanced order panel adds what matters most for a prop account:

    • Stop loss and take profit can be set before you open the trade, and you see what those levels mean in your account currency.
    • Risk Mode sizes the position for you based on the maximum loss you are willing to take on that trade.
    • The eye icon next to the order panel shows the key details of the instrument, such as minimum position size, swaps and leverage.

Worked example: sizing a trade on a $100,000 account

You trade a $100,000 2-Step account. Your max daily loss is 5% ($5,000) and your max total loss is 8%, a static floor at $92,000. You decide never to risk more than a tenth of your daily limit on one trade.

    ItemValue
    Account size$100,000
    Max daily loss (5%)$5,000
    Max total loss (8%, static)Floor at $92,000
Your risk per trade (10% of the daily limit)$500
Losing trades in a row before the daily limit10

In Risk Mode you enter $500 as your maximum loss and set your stop loss. Match-Trader calculates the volume for you, so a stopped-out trade costs about $500 and nothing more. On an Instant or 1-Step account with a 3% daily limit, the same approach gives you $300 per trade on $100,000.

Stop loss is not mandatory at Core Funded. Using it together with Risk Mode is simply the most direct way to make sure one trade can never break your daily limit.

    Charts and analysis

The Trade tab shows the chart for the selected symbol. You can choose between the Match-Trader chart, which is the default, and a TradingView layout, so you can work with the charting tools you probably already know.

At the top of the chart you see open, high, low and close of the current candle. On the right you change the timeframe, switch between line and candlestick charts, zoom and go full screen. You can add a crosshair for exact price and time levels, draw lines and shapes, add chart patterns and indicators, and manage your layouts.

Below the symbol list you also find:

    • Market News with current headlines.
    • Calendar with upcoming macroeconomic events.
    • Market tab with the daily price range and market sentiment.
    • Symbol Info with details on the selected instrument.

The calendar is especially useful on a funded account. Without the News Trading upgrade, no trades may be opened or closed from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after high-impact news and FOMC events. Profits from trades in that window are removed. Check the calendar before you trade and you know when those windows are.

    Analytics and the other sections

The Analytics section shows your account performance: ROI, trade history and further statistics. It is a quick way to see which trades are moving you forward.

Match-Trader also has a Prop section with the available challenges and their prices, a Competitions section with running and upcoming trading competitions, and an Explore area with market news, upcoming events and current market trends.

    Using Match-Trader on your phone

Match-Trader works on your phone as a web app: you add it to your home screen once and then open it like any other app.

iPhone (Safari): open match.corefunded.io, tap the share icon, choose "Add to Home Screen", name it and tap "Add".

Android (Chrome): open match.corefunded.io, tap the menu with the three dots, choose "Install app" or "Add to Home screen" and confirm.

Then open it from your home screen and log in with the details from your activation email.

    Requesting a payout in Match-Trader

Payouts are requested in Match-Trader, not in the dashboard. Payouts are on demand, so you request one whenever your funded account qualifies:

    • Your balance is above the starting balance.
    • No rule has been broken.
    • All positions and pending orders are closed.
    • You have your minimum trading days (5 for Instant and 2-Step Flex, 3 for 1-Step and 2-Step), each with at least 0.5% net realized profit.

Core Funded then reviews the request and pays it within 24 hours by bank transfer or crypto. If it takes longer, you keep 100% of the profit on that payout. Your profit split is 80%, upgradable at checkout to up to 95%. All details, including how much you can request at once, are on the payouts page.

If you are still choosing your account, the Match-Trader prop firm page compares the account types, and the overview of the funded account shows the sizes and prices. The full rule set is on the rules page.
