How prop firm payouts work: from profit to your bank account
What you need before your first payout, how much you can request at once, how the profit split is applied and how the money reaches you.
Prop firm payouts are the reason most traders take a challenge in the first place. You trade a simulated account under clear rules, and when you make a profit, you receive a share of it. At Core Funded, payouts are on demand: you request them in Match-Trader whenever your account qualifies, and they are paid within 24 hours by bank transfer or crypto. If a payout takes longer, you keep 100% of the profit split on that payout.
This guide walks through the whole process: what you need before your first request, how much you can take out at once, how the split is applied, and what happens after the money is sent.
What a prop firm payout is
A payout is your share of the profit you made on a funded account. You do not withdraw your own deposit, because there is none. You paid a one-time fee for the account, traded it, and the profit above the starting balance is split between you and Core Funded.
The standard profit split is 80% for you. When you buy your account, you can upgrade the split to 90% or 95% at checkout, and the upgraded rate then applies to every payout on that account for its whole life.
Payouts come from the funded stage. During the evaluation phases of a 1-step challenge or 2-step challenge you are working towards the profit target, not requesting payouts. With an instant funded account there is no evaluation, so you work towards your first payout from day one.
Before your first payout: the requirements
You can request a payout whenever you want, as long as these conditions are met at the moment you send the request:
- Your account balance is above the original starting balance.
- You have not broken any rule.
- All positions are closed, with no open trades or pending orders.
- You have reached the minimum trading days for your account type.
- The consistency rule is met (on account types that have one).
Minimum trading days
A qualifying trading day is a day on which you make at least 0.5% net realized profit. The trading day runs from 00:00 to 23:59 UTC, and the days do not need to be consecutive. Only closed trades count.
| Account type | Min trading days | Consistency rule (max share of total profit from one day) |
|---|---|---|
| Instant | 5 | 15% |
| 1-Step | 3 | 30% |
| 2-Step | 3 | 30% |
| 2-Step Flex | 5 | None |
On 1-Step and 2-Step accounts, the count restarts once you reach the funded stage, so you need your qualifying days again there.
The consistency rule
The consistency rule is checked only when you request a payout, not while you trade. It limits how much of your total profit may come from a single day. Each day counts with the highest net profit it reached at any point, even if you gave part of it back later.
If one day is too large, you are not penalised. You simply keep trading until your total profit is big enough that the day falls within the limit.
Identity check
On your first payout request, an identity check (KYC) is carried out. Later payouts on the same account do not need it again.
How much you can request at once
Each payout request is capped in two ways:
- 50% of your total profit. Each request can include up to half of the profit on the account. The other half stays in the account as a buffer, and you can request it later as long as you stay profitable.
- A maximum amount per request. Up to $2,500 per request on accounts up to $100,000, and up to $5,000 per request on accounts above $100,000.
The lower of the two applies. The minimum payout is $25.
Your profit split is then applied to the amount you request. So the request is the gross amount, and what reaches you is your 80%, 90% or 95% of it.
Worked example on a $100,000 account
Say you trade a $100,000 1-Step account in the funded stage. Your balance is $105,000, so your total profit is $5,000. You have 3 qualifying days, all positions are closed, and your best day was $1,400.
| Step | Value |
|---|---|
| Total profit | $5,000 |
| Consistency limit (30% of $5,000) | $1,500, your best day of $1,400 is within it |
| 50% of total profit | $2,500 |
| Cap per request (account up to $100,000) | $2,500 |
| Amount you can request | $2,500 |
| You receive at 80% split | $2,000 |
| You receive at 95% split | $2,375 |
| Profit that stays in the account | $2,500 |
On a $200,000 account with $10,000 profit, the numbers scale up: 50% is $5,000, which matches the $5,000 cap for accounts above $100,000. At an 80% split you would receive $4,000.
Requesting the payout in Match-Trader
Payouts are requested inside Match-Trader, the platform you trade on. There is no separate payout portal and the request does not go through the Core Funded dashboard.
The process has three steps:
- You request the payout in Match-Trader.
- Core Funded reviews your profit and your compliance with the rules.
- The payout is sent by SEPA transfer, international bank transfer or crypto, whichever you choose.
The 24-hour guarantee
Core Funded processes your payout within 24 hours. If it takes longer, you automatically receive 100% of the profit on that payout instead of your normal split.
The 24 hours start once your account has been reviewed and every requested document has been submitted. If documents are still missing, the clock pauses until they are in. Having your KYC ready on your first request is the easiest way to keep the process fast.
Bank transfer or crypto
Both methods fall under the same 24-hour guarantee, so the choice is about what suits you, not about speed.
After your first payout
The 3-day payout interval
For every payout after the first, you need at least 3 new qualifying trading days since your previous payout. The same definition applies: at least 0.5% net realized profit per day, days need not be consecutive. This interval does not apply to your first payout.
Your account keeps running
After a payout, you keep trading the same funded account. The profit you left in the account (the other 50%) stays there and keeps working as a buffer above your drawdown limit, which matters because the maximum total loss is a static drawdown measured from the original starting balance.
Fee refund with the 4th payout
When you receive your fourth payout, the fee you paid for the account is refunded in full, in the amount you actually paid. If the account is lost through a rule violation before the fourth payout, the fee is not refunded.
Tips for a smooth payout
- Close everything first. A request needs all positions and pending orders closed.
- Watch your best day. If one day carries a large part of your profit, plan to trade on until the consistency ratio fits.
- Spread your qualifying days. Five or three days with 0.5% each are enough; there is no need to rush them into one week.
- Have your ID ready. The 24-hour clock waits for missing documents.
- Mind the news window. On funded accounts without the News Trading upgrade, trades opened or closed from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after high-impact news lose their profits. That profit then does not count towards your payout.
You can find every rule in one place on the Core Funded rules page, and the payout facts summarised on the payouts page.
